Records that support learning

Syros stores the information needed for learning profiles, assignments, responses, progress, teacher feedback, portfolios and supported participation. A recorded submission or completion time is a learning event; it does not establish attention, attendance or mastery on its own.

External website activity is not automatically tracked as completed learning. Evidence comes from the Syros response and any associated teacher review.

Institutional inquiries

Partnership inquiries are stored in the private Syros administrator workspace. They include the submitted contact details, organization, area of interest, population description, timeline, optional funding information and opportunity. The form does not request participant lists or research datasets.

Research participation

Using Syros does not enroll a learner in research. A future study needs separate participant information describing its purpose, procedures, information collected, access, retention, withdrawal process and contacts.

Institutional review and any required parental permission or learner assent must be resolved for the specific study. Permissions for ordinary learning, research and media sharing must remain separate. No current study or approval is implied.

Future reporting

Institutional cohorts and authorized reporting are in preparation. A future program may agree to evaluate participation, attendance records, activity timestamps, project completion, assessments or selected portfolio evidence.

Any release would require a defined purpose, authorized recipients, appropriate permission and a review of the requested fields. Direct identifiers, private responses and media require additional consideration; they are not included automatically. Pseudonymous information is not necessarily anonymous.

Research export is not currently enabled. The public website provides no access to learner data.
